Jim Hutch, P.Eng. Chairman of the Board
Mr. Hutch was the President and CEO for the Saskatchewan Research Council from 1983 through 1995 and served as the Deputy Minister of Department of Economic Development and Trade for the Government of Saskatchewan during 1975-77 and 1982-83. He has been involved in various industries such as construction, mining, manufacturing and consulting engineering. He was on the board of Goldcorp Inc. as lead director, is the Chair of the board of Modern Digital Communications, and also serves on the boards of several other companies. Mr. Hutch brings extensive experience in engineering and business and special insight into issues of corporate governance.
Ravi K Maithel, B.Tech Hons. (Mech. Eng.), M.E. (IE &OR), UC Berkeley, Founder & CEO.
Mr. Maithel has over 30 years experience in leadership positions in R&D companies, consulting, industrial engineering, management of discrete manufacturing plants, construction and maintenance of chemical plants. He also brings extensive knowledge and experience in marketing and general management of technology companies. Recently he worked with clients involved with companies like 3M, Unitech and Frito-Lay. He has also worked with Bioriginal Food & Science Corporation and Hitachi Canadian Industries Ltd. in the selection of their ERP software.
Trent L McConaghy, B.E.(E.E.), B.Sc.(C.S.) Director
Mr. McConaghy was the co-founder and Chief Scientist of Analog Design Automation Inc., which has recently been acquired by Synopsys Inc. He has extensive experience in nonlinear optimization, analog CAD, nonlinear modeling, and automated structural design with an emphasis on intelligent systems-based tools. In addition to published research, he has authored dozens of corporate technical papers and has numerous patents pending. He was awarded the 2001 Outstanding Young Alumni Award by University of Saskatchewan.
Amit Gupta, B.E.(E.E.), B.Sc.(C.S.) Director
Amit Gupta is an experienced technology entrepreneur with emphasis in information technology and semiconductor industries. In 1999, he co-founded Analog Design Automation Inc. (ADA), a startup for semiconductor design software. Over the next five years, as President & CEO and VP Marketing and Business Development, he helped the company grow through periods of target market identification, initial prototype development, field trials successes, product commercialization and launch, sales generation with quarterly revenues growth and acquisition by Synopsys Corporation. To fund this growth, he raised investment from venture capital and government sources.
Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, he was product manager for the wireless group at Nortel Networks and a hardware engineer for the RF Communications group at Harris Corporation. He graduated with degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with great Distinction from University of Saskatchewan.
